I grew up in my dad’s wood shop and have always loved working with my hands so I decided to follow my passion for fixing and creating things. As the owner of an older home I understand the little idiosyncrasies of home ownership that can be frustrating at times. I love serving people and helping them accomplish things they either can’t do themselves or don’t have time to tackle themselves.
Why “Southbound” Handyman? Well, I’m a lifelong Virginian for one. And once upon a time I thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail heading “southbound” and the experience remains a big influence on my life. When I commit to something, I commit 100%, and that will be no less true for any home repair job I tackle.

PRO TIP: I’m a working contractor so during the day I’m typically wearing a tool belt, running a saw, up on a ladder, or doing something else that requires a lot of concentration. That means if you call I may not be able to pick up right away. Don’t be shy about sending a text so I can respond more quickly when I can put the saw down. Or if your inquiry doesn’t need an immediate response an email can be a good way to reach me.
